Irony of life: A case of misplaced priority
Secondary school students from Kano state were travelling to Lagos by road to participate in a national quiz.
After covering over 90% of the journey, they had an accident along Lagos – Ibadan road.
A trailer trying to avoid a herd of cattle, veered out off the road to avoid a collision with cattle on his path. The driver of the trailer abandoned his lane to avoid the cattle and had a head-on collision with the vehicle conveying the students from Kano to Lagos.
13 students died on the spot.
The misplacement of priorities are legion and we shall highlight a few:
Kano state Government flew the remains of the deceased and surviving students from Lagos, back to Kano by air.
And you wonder why they didn’t fly the students from Kano to Lagos by air ab initio?
The Kano state Government under the leadership of Governor Gaduje put those kids in harms way. A return ticket to Lagos from Kano couldn’t have been more than N400,000 max.
The menace of herdsmen and cattle has become a cause for urgent national concern.
Nigeria is not a Zoo because Nnamdi Kanu said so
. Nigeria is a Zoo because our leaders and political elites see the country as a big animal farm!
